A meeting of the OPEN SPACES COMMITTEE will take place on Tuesday 24th February 2015 in the Council Chamber, Council Offices, North Street, Ilminster at 17.30pm
The public are welcome to attend this meeting. Members of the public are invited to ask questions or raise issues relevant to the work of the Council. The overall time available for this session is restricted to 15 minutes unless the Chair decides otherwise. Individual speakers are restricted to 3 minutes and are asked not to repeat points that have been made previously. It is helpful if potential contributors can make themselves known to the Town Clerk before the meeting so that the session can be programmed effectively.
Public participation is not part of the formal meeting of the Council however a note will be made of matters raised and recorded at the start of the minutes of the meeting.

1. Apologies for absence.
To receive apologies for absence from Councillors unable to attend the meeting.
2. Declarations of Interest.
To receive any declarations from Councillors and Officers of interests in respect of matters to be considered at this meeting, together with an appropriate statement regarding the nature of interest.
3. Minutes.
a) To confirm the minutes of the meeting held on 27th January 2015 as a correct record
b) To consider the action list relating to the Open Spaces committee.
4. Police Report
To receive an Ilminster Beat Report.
5. Wardens Report.
To receive the report from the Senior Open Spaces Warden about recent open spaces activities in Ilminster.
6. Permission to use the Wharf Lane Recreation Ground
The Committee is asked to determine the following requests to use the Wharf Lane Recreation Ground.
A) Ilminster Midsummer Experience (in accordance with the Committee’s request a presentation will be made by a representative from the Ilminster Midsummer Experience Committee)
B) Marshall Herbert’s Funfair 31 May 2015 – 7 June 2015
C) All Human Circus 22 June 2015 – 24 June 2015
D) Purple Field Productions – Halloween Evening Bike Ride 31 October 2015 E) Party On the Park
7. Permission to Metal Detect on Council Land
The Committee is asked to determine a request for permission to metal detect on council land
8. Herne Hill
To receive an oral update from the Senior Open Spaces Warden on the work planned for Herne Hill during the next 6 months and consider the possibility of volunteer days.
