Open Space Committee Meeting Agenda 27th October 2015

A meeting of the OPEN SPACES COMMITTEE will take place on Tuesday 27th October 2015 in the Council Chamber, Council Offices, North Street, Ilminster at 19:30hrs.

The public are welcome to attend this meeting. Members of the public are invited to ask questions or raise issues relevant to the work of the Council. The overall time available for this session is restricted to 15 minutes unless the Chair decides otherwise. Individual speakers are restricted to 3 minutes and are asked not to repeat points that have been made previously. It is helpful if potential contributors can make themselves known to the Town Clerk before the meeting so that the session can be programmed effectively.

Public participation is not part of the formal meeting of the Council however a note will be made of matters raised and recorded at the start of the minutes of the meeting.

AGENDA

 1.  Apologies for absence.

 To receive apologies for absence from Councillors unable to attend the meeting.

 

2.  Declarations of Interest.

To receive any declarations from Councillors and Officers of interests in respect of matters to be considered at this meeting, together with an appropriate statement regarding the nature of interest.

 

3.  Minutes.

a) To confirm the minutes of the meeting held on 29th September 2015 as a correct record.

b) To consider the action list relating to the Open Spaces committee.

 

4.  Police Report

This agenda item provides an opportunity for the Police to report on any matters relevant to policing in Ilminster.

 

5.  Wardens Report.

To receive the report from the Senior Open Spaces Warden about recent open spaces activities in Ilminster.

 

 6.  Financial Comparison

To receive information about the Open Spaces Committee, income, expenditure and commitments compared with the 2015/16 budget.

 

7.  Refund Fair Deposit

A deposit of £500 was taken from the Fair to cover any damage caused as a result of holding the fair. The ground has been inspected and no damage was found and Committee approval is required for the return of the deposit.

 

8.  Play Equipment Annual Inspection

To consider the Annual Play Equipment Inspection report.

 

 9.  Surface outside Wardens’ Workshop

  To receive an oral update on the action proposed to improve the surface outside the Wardens’ Workshop.

 

 10. Stiga Repairs

To make a recommendation to Town Council regarding repairs to the Stiga. The quotations are in excess of the amount in earmarked reserves and exceed the amount of money the Town Clerk is authorised to spend.

 

 11.  Acquisition of Additional Land

  To receive an oral update on the research undertaken and the proposed next steps.
