Cemetery of the year Awards 26/27

BRAAM (British Register of Memorial Masons) has a ‘Cemetery of the Year Awards’ and awards Gold, Silver and Bronze certificates after filling in a questionnaire. The aim in the 2026/2027 year was improving standards for the bereaved, aimed at working to implement improvements to upgrade the Cemetery for the local community.

Some of the questions

  • Is water readily available at the cemetery?
  • Do you have a list of locally registered BRAMM masons on your website?
  • Does your Cemetery have a Green Flag?
  • Do you have toilets?
  • Do you have anything in place to reduce anti-social behaviour at night, such as locked gates or cameras?

We were pleased to receive a Silver Certificate award and look forward to implementing small improvements for next year.

A Gold Certificate is beyond our reach as we don’t have toilet facilities, an onsite member of staff permanently and security measures.
